About Kandra
At heart, she is a dancer and an activist, but in 2022 Kandra realized that she enjoys crunching numbers and figuring out how everyday people can financially live and thrive under white supremacy and capitalism. And even more importantly, how we can begin to support one another in creating new futures centered in community and mutual aid. She is excited to support people in their finances and helping people to live more purposefully with their dollars.
To become qualified to file your taxes, Kandra took a 60hr H&R Block course in the fall of 2022, and then passed another exam to become a VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Site Coordinator for an IRS program that supports low-income folks in filing their taxes. Kandra then obtained an official IRS tax preparation number and purchased the fancy software needed for filing.
Kandra recently moved to Burlington, VT, to live in a new place where she doesn’t know many people and continue her transition, to find new queer community, and to live closer to her honey.
